Bridging Millennia: Ayurveda in Modern Research
For thousands of years, Ayurveda has operated on a sophisticated framework of holistic health, individualized care, and a deep understanding of nature. Today, modern science is beginning to validate these ancient principles. This Research Hub is dedicated to one mission: to collect, curate, and explain the growing body of evidence that connects the wisdom of the *Samhitas* to the data of modern clinical trials.
As a BAMS student, I see my role not just as a future practitioner, but as a bridge. This database is a tool for fellow students, curious readers, and seasoned doctors alike to explore the "why" behind our practices. Here, you can find studies on everything from the neuroprotective effects of **Brahmi** to the efficacy of **Panchakarma** in chronic disease. This is where tradition meets evidence.
How We Curate This Database
We query the official **PubMed (NCBI)** database in real-time. Our filters are designed to find the most relevant and high-quality publications, focusing on:
- Clinical Trials (RCTs): The gold standard for testing the efficacy of a herb or therapy.
- Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses: Powerful studies that summarize the findings of many different trials.
- **Pharmacological Studies:** Research that explains *how* an herb works at a molecular level (e.g., how *Curcumin* targets inflammatory pathways).
Our goal is not just to be a list of links, but a true library of knowledge. We encourage you to use this tool to deepen your understanding and support your practice with robust, evidence-based data.
Research Hub FAQs
What is PubMed?
PubMed is a free search engine maintained by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). It provides access to the MEDLINE database of references and abstracts on life sciences and biomedical topics. It is the gold standard for finding legitimate, peer-reviewed medical research.
Why isn't my search finding anything?
Try broadening your search terms. For example, instead of a very specific Sanskrit name, try the common English name (e.g., "Turmeric" instead of "Haridra"). Also, remember this is a database of formal scientific research. Some niche concepts may not have many studies available yet.
How can I add my own research?
Currently, this tool only *searches* the official PubMed database. We do not host user-submitted research. If your research has been published in a peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed journal, it will automatically appear in the search results!
