Timeline of Visha Manifestation

A conceptual progression model of toxicity from exposure to chronicity.
*Theoretical Model Only. Not for Clinical Triage.*

Phase 1: Immediate 0 - 2 Hours (Ashu)
Prathama Vega (Initial Impulse)
Rapid absorption into Rakta (Blood). Systemic shock, loss of consciousness (Murchha), and acute burning sensation (Osha). The poison spreads instantly like oil on water.
Active Properties: Vyavayi (Spreading), Vikashi (Depressant), Tikshna (Sharp)
Phase 2: Intermediate 2 - 12 Hours
Dwitiya - Tritiya Vega
Involvement of specific organs (Amashaya/Pakvashaya). Gastric irritation, vomiting, discoloration, and initial organ distress. The body attempts to expel the toxin (Vamana/Virechana).
Active Properties: Ushna (Hot), Ruksha (Dry)
Phase 2: Intermediate 12 - 24 Hours
Dhatu Gata Visha
Penetration into deeper tissues (Meda, Majja). Disruption of vital functions (Marma abhighata). Hiccups, swelling (Shotha), and sensory disorientation occur here.
Active Properties: Sukshma (Subtle Penetration)
Phase 3: Delayed Weeks to Months
Dushi Visha (Latent Poison)
If not fatal or fully expelled, the poison becomes dormant. It covers itself with Kapha and resides in the tissues, triggering low-grade inflammation, skin disorders, or psychological issues periodically.
Active Properties: Avipaki (Indigestible), Manda (Slow)
Phase 3: Chronic/Sequelae Long Term
Upadrava (Complications)
Permanent damage to organs or biological fire (Agni). Conditions like Udara (Ascites), Unmada (Psychosis), or sterility may manifest as long-term sequelae of the initial exposure.
Effect: Ojo-Kshaya (Depletion of Vitality)
